The report outlines Geely’s progress in implementing its ESG strategy across six key pillars; climate neutrality, nature positivity, all-around safety, digitalisation & innovation, co-prosperity, and governance & ethics.
Geely made notable progress towards minimising its ecological footprint in 2024, reducing per-vehicle lifecycle carbon emissions by 18% compared to the initial 2020 baseline. New energy vehicle (NEV) sales increased by 92% year-on-year compared to 2023, totaling 888,000 units globally and 41% of Geely’s total sales.
Renewable energy accounts for over 64% of total energy consumption at Geely’s vehicle manufacturing bases; Geely operates 12 green and 11 zero-waste factories, and as a result has been jointly certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) as China’s first ‘Waste Free Enterprise’ within the automotive sector.

Geely also expanded its research into clean energy sources, including continued investment into methanol fuel and hydrogen power. Its fifth-generation super methanol PHEV technology was recently showcased at Auto Shanghai 2025 within its ‘Super Sedan’ prototype.
These new mobility innovations are furthered by Geely’s efforts to provide eco-friendly vehicles for global events; including its provision of 350 methanol-hydrogen hybrid Geely Emgrand vehicles for the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin.
Product quality and safety are core pillars of Geely’s brand identity. In 2024, eight models received the maximum C-NCAP five-star safety rating, while three models earned Euro NCAP and one model achieved ANCAP five-star safety ratings.
In 2024, Geely adhered to a decarbonization path, focusing on implementing measures in areas such as pollution reduction and waste management, resource utilization and conservation, circular economy practices, and biodiversity protection.
Geely promoted green procurement practices, with over 50% of core suppliers using green electricity, and nearly half achieving 100% green energy utilization. Geely also established closed-loop recycling systems for steel and aluminium, recycling over 15,000 tons of circular steel and about 5,000 tons of circular aluminium, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 115,000 tons.
In 2024, 1,770 units from recycled vehicles were maintained, with the remaining 67,419 components recycled and remanufactured.
In 2024, the Company invested 1.85 million hours in employee training programs focused on electrification and digitalization, ensuring 100% coverage across critical roles in digital literacy.
Additionally, Geely has strengthened its commitment to environmental protection, emergency disaster relief, and community development, further demonstrating its dedication to creating a positive and lasting impact on society.
By integrating ESG principles into its innovation and development processes, Geely is paving the way for a low-carbon, safe, and connected future.
